Dear HarmonySite administrator,
One of the optional extras that we offer, of which you may not be aware, is our Nightly Backup service. In short, all the data in your HarmonySite (files and database) is backed up every night to a remote server. The cost for this service is $40 per year (plus GST for Australian groups).
Data disasters happen - everyone's got at least one story about them. While it's true that server hard drives can fail, hardware can be stolen, or datacentres can burn down, it's WAY more likely that your data will be lost by simple human error - accidentally deleting something, or overwriting some data and then wanting access to the original.
We have many organisations using our nightly backup service, and on average we retrieve lost data from our backup storage for SOMEBODY around once a week. In other words, it's pretty common to lose data. Our service is a great safeguard against that.
Specifically...
· The backup service runs automatically, every 24 hours
· All FILES are backed up - PDFs, MP3s, etc
· Your website DATABASE (MySQL) is backed up - members, events, songs, website pages, attendance, etc
· The data is copied to a different server on a different continent
· All historical data is kept - meaning that if a file is changed, we store both copies (before and after) in our backup storage
· Restoring of data is done for free - no charge to you
As an introductory offer, we won't charge you for the backups until your next billing cycle (whenever that is). So if you've just paid your annual account with us in the last few weeks, you'll get nearly a year's free backups.
